A character background story I entered with my application for a Role Playing guild on Shadowbane. Yes, the last name is from Naruto and was chosen by a small group of us.
As a young child Jeena had always been interested in the forest. She rarely spent any time at home as a child. As she grew she learned to live off of the forest. Her skills had grown vast in such a short time and soon she was adept in many different feats. She became an excellent shot with a bow and her stealth abilities were amazing. One day after returning home from a day in the forest she stepped inside her house only to find it ransacked. She searched all over for her parents but with no luck. She then went outside to look for them and again no luck. For the first time in her life she was truly frightened and didn't know what to do. One of her great skills she had perfected long ago finally came into play, her tracking skills. She went out in search of her parents.
After many days of tracking she finally caught up to them and their captors. Ahead she spotted a campsite with a fire. She used her stealth skills to sneak in closer to the camp and see what terrible people would take her parents. As she moved closer she saw her parents, badly injured and tired up. At the sight of them she started moving closer but just before she took a step 2 figures appeared near the fire... both elven. She hid in the foliage for some time and listened in on their conversation. What she could understand was that her parents had a contract out on them. A small elven tribe didn't take kindly to her mom(being a true Elf[And carrying the Hyuga name]) marrying her father(being a human) and thought that enslaving them would justify their wrongdoing. If they had known that the two had a child together then they would both be dead already. As Jeena sat in the now growing shadows she watched another elf appear. After sitting there for what seemed like eternity the 3 surrounded her parents. She sat there and witnessed the 3 elves begin beating her father mercilessly. They then turned to her mother and did the same after her father was unconscious. After a few swings from each elf she saw her mother's head hit the ground and her body stopped moving.
At that moment she formed a new feeling in her heart, where once there was nothing but love and comfort in her heart it was now replaced with burning hatred and sorrow. She didn't know if her parents were dead but it didn't matter, the scene she just witnessed allowed no justice in her heart or mind. *SNAP* In the second or 2 it took her to build up the rage in her body she must have shifted her weight and broke a branch under her but even if the elves had heard it they didn't have time to react. All you can hear was 3 arrows in unison after the breaking branch and the elves dropped the ground. As she saw the 3 bodies fall lifelessly to the ground an evil smile came across her face. "And I thought you were the people of the forest." The thought of being able to sneak up on elves in their natural environment gave her a great feeling inside, but not as great as the feeling that her stealthness brought their demise. The evil grin faded quickly as she remembered why she had killed them in the first place, she ran to her parents as fast as she could. It was to late for her father, there was nothing she could do for him. Her mother on the other hand was still alive. She used what skills she had learned to mend her mother's wounds but it was only enough to stop most of the bleeding. She would be dead within an hour without the proper healing from a priest or a druid. She tried with her might but it did nothing, shortly after her mother had died in her arms. She sat there and looked at her mother, she began feeling hatred towards herself because she expected to be overcome with sadness, but the sadness never came. Instead the hatred she felt early took a hold of her again. It was a strange feeling, but she liked it. She heard a noise from the north, she quickly found a spot to conceal herself.
Soon another elf appeared, he was whistling a cheerful song and then he spotted his fallen comrades. Horror took to his face as he saw they were killed by arrows. He got low to the ground and search everywhere but saw nothing, even with his skills so attuned to nature he couldn't spot Jeena, and this made the evil smile return as she lined up her arrow with his head. She could feel hear eyes turn red, her heart hot like a burning coal, her fingertips burned as if the bow was made of flames, but this made her smile even wider. As she let go the feeling of hatred swept threw her as if it left her body and rode the arrow right into the elf's skull. She took a step back and examined herself, she tried to understand what happened but couldn't. Fear took over again and a tear came to her eye as she watched her last victim's legs start twitching. She turned and ran, she wasn't in control anymore, the event that just took place hit her all at once and all she could do was run. She ran until she came to the shore. She didn't know what to think at this point. She sat down and got herself lost in thought about what she saw that day.
All of a sudden a strange man walked up to her, he startled her at first but she barely reacted. She then looked at him and felt her eyes become red again... an elf! Without thinking she drew her bow and aimed for his head, he fell backwards and begged for her to put the arrow away. He identified himself as Ghobe Hrilyn, a traveling priest. She looked him over for a moment. He pointed down the shore to his boat, him and a few predecessors were going on a voyage to the ice isle to spread the word of their lord to the "non-believers". He thought he would make a change in their ways, he felt like her was the All-Father himself, at least that's the impression he gave off. Her eyes calmed down and she lowered her arrow. Together they walked back to his boat, he was hoping to convert her to the ways of the All-Father, Jeena had a different agenda though. The whole trip was a long one, for the whole way there Ghobe tried filling Jeena's head with the teachings of the All-Father. This added to the burning desire in her heart.
They reached the shore and Jeena was the first off the boat, she started walking away with her back to the boat. Ghobe jokingly shouted to her "After all that you're going to turn you back on the All-Father?". A smile came across her face again, followed by the burning in her eyes. She chuckled and then cheerfully responded "Now that you mention it..." she could hear his smile get wider as she paused "...yes I am." With that she turned and before his smile could fade she planted an arrow into his chest. The elves left on the boat looked in horror was Ghobe fell over the side dead. They all reached for their staves but before they could make it off the boat Jeena had taken each one of their pitiful lives. She took pleasure in burning the boat with the fallen elves and their teachings still onboard. She even took the time to put Ghobe back in the boat. She expected it to be cold on the ice island, but she didn't begin to feel it until the fury left her eyes. Stranded on this island now she set off into a totally new world for her far from the comforts of the forest, but with new feelings in her heart, she felt a change of scenery would only seem fitting.
