Repair/Remove XFCE4 Session in Fedora 14

Comments (0)

So I logged in today and found my panels/bars missing on my desktop. Very weird! I knew immediately it was an issue with the session, no idea how I knew that but I just did. I enabled Session Chooser (Right Click on Desktop > Applications > Preferences > Session and Statup > Check "Display chooser on login"). I then logged off, logged back in and created a new session... FIXED! So now my desktop is back to normal but I now need to select my new session each time I login, not ideal but it works. But here's how I fixed that.

1) Logout and login as root (for me I switched to TTY2 which was done by hitting Ctrl + Alt + F2).
2) Navigate to your user's directory (for me is was /home/kujoe/): cd /home/kujoe
3) Go into your .cache directory and backup your current sessions directory just incase: cd .cache && mv sessions sessions.bak
4) Remove all of your sessions: cd sessions && rm -rf *
5) Login to a fixed desktop (the only Session that should be available is Default, select that one) and disable Session Chooser.

ALL FIXED! :D
