Debian REPO for latest version of Lighttpd.

I've found an awesome blog that created a Debian repository for Lighttpd updates since Debian is so far behind (they offer 1.4.19 and the latest version is 1.4.28). So here's the quick and easy on how to install the latest version:

Edit the repository list:

vi /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the following line to the bottom of the list:

deb http://www.jonmoniaci.com/debian-ppa/ lenny main contrib non-free

Update and install:

apt-get update && apt-get install lighttpd

Quote:

hostname:~# lighttpd -v
lighttpd/1.4.28 - a light and fast webserver
Build-Date: Dec 8 2010 14:17:42
