RAWR!! Evil Netgear!!!

So the first thing I did when we bought our new house was I ordered internet from Bright House Networks. Normally they have been great to me and in the past I order their business plan through work but this time I stuck with the residential and even though I still have my old modem that I got from them forever ago because it was reliable and awesome, I didn't mention it to them so that when the tech came out he would give us a new modem. Well he did and now we are the proud owners of the worst networking device I've ever used.

It's a Netgear CGD24G Wireless Cable Modem Gateway. The wireless is decent (802.11g) but we keep loosing internet while watching streaming video (Hulu, Netflix, CBS.com, Fox.com, etc...). On top of that, the control panel is pretty much useless and the Port Forwarding DOES NOT WORK. I can forward standard ports, but I cannot customize them at all.

There are dozens of things wrong with this modem but I don't want to waste my time keeping track of them all, I need to go into one of their office to have them switch me over to my other modem which is just a normal modem and actually works! I get to use my own Buffalo router with my lovely DD-WRT firmware which I can fulling control which I LOVE! :D
